Update round deux............................

(***super old pic. but had to get a pic with both of them...remember...camera broken! :( !)
Much to update! Thank you first for all your sweet comments and words of encouragement. They have meant sooo much to us! We love you all!

So! Here's the scoop on Jason. We went to the Bone Marrow Clinic. The doctor explained it to us like this:
....when radiologist read a scan they have to report every little thing. The spot that they had found read 2.9 (whatever that is?!) and a normal scan would read 2.5. She said that at the time of the scan his lymph node was probably just working and doing it's job. If it were cancer...especially Lymphoma....it would read like 20., so it was not back!

We were stunned. It took us a couple minutes to have it sink in. I actually asked her "so we don't have to be here anymore?" ....Nope! I was out of there! Once we got in the elevator Jason just gave me a HUGE HUGE hug. I could feel the relief and comprehension. It was a GREAT feeling!!!!!!!

Cancer done....check!

Sam's update:
He is doing goodish. The newness and "ooo, look at all the attention I'm getting" has worn off. His meter doesn't seem so bright and shiny anymore. It's sunk in. We've had a couple melt downs, nothing too bad, but I get we've only just begun!

His sugar levels are all over the place. His body is still adjusting and getting used to the insulin. He's still getting used to the fact that anything he puts to his lips must be accounted for. He's already gained 6 pounds and doesn't look quite so clear. It's soooo nice to see him eating again!

We decided as a family (okay...I decided and totally manipulated the kids to get on board!) to count our carbs together. That's what a family does. We help each other and support each other. We've only had one meal and it's okay. We'll see how it goes. I just don't want him to feel isolated and alone. I fear he'll end up resenting the disease and end up with more issues than I'm sure he's already going to end up with!

I have A LOT of work ahead of me! It's a little overwhelming because I would honestly like to just take a nap! But Captain Kim moving forward! ;)

Thank you again for all your loving thoughts and prayers. They have truly been felt!

That link is where I got Madi her cheap wonderful medical bracelet. I know Sam is bigger than Madi but I think it's a must! These $3 bracelets last and Madi hasn't taken her off in 5 months and the lettering is still showing. Before the bracelets came in the mail I was scared of getting in a stupid car accident and her not have the proper medical alert on.

We all enjoy Madi's sugar pills...Walgreen's and Walmart have some yummy and cheap ones. Each of Madi's teachers have sugar pills and a juice box. We have sugar pills in the glove box, in every purse.... When Madi has a low and needs a yummy sugar pill we all suck on one too. Even her friends do. When we take Madi's blood suar we all place our bets to see who can guess the closest before the reading comes up.

Good luck! I will be thinking of you and your family.

Loves,
Jeni
